8 Rules of software that should be broken

I read this article from "optimize magazine", and I thought it is not so bad. This is kind of similar to what RMS talks about free software. However it is written in a language alien to "normal" people, and may make sense only "executives".

These are the 8 rules.

#1 Seat-licensing is the best way to price business software.
#2 Rising software maintenance fees are just a cost of doing business.
#3 Customizing software is the only way for buyers to get what they want.
#4 Software service and quality decrease over the lifetime of the contract.
#5 Software must be financed from the capital-expense budget.
#6 The on-demand model is better suited for small business.
#7 Customers must accept fewer choices as a result of software-industry consolidation.
#8 Bug and poor quality are to be expected in early releases of software.

people, please break these 8 rules... :)
